In terms of music adventures and live shows, 2018 was the best I’ve ever had. So many happy memories. I will always be proud to be a fangirl. I’m a dork but I don’t care.
Some of my highlights:
-Got to meet Chris. I was a nervous wreck the whole time. But he is truly such a sweet person. I’m not just saying that because he’s in my favorite band.
-Sat front row at Foo. Oh man, I was in the moment the whole time.
-Chris saw me and threw me his pick. Again, he is a sweet and thoughtful man who made my day/year/life.
-OK! I swear on my life Pat Smear winked at me..
-Got to visit London Bridge Studios, where so many amazing albums were recorded (Ten, Temple of the Dog, Apple, Louder than Love, etc…)
-Stood in the spot where Chris and Ed cut vocals for “Hunger Strike”. Lord I can’t tell you how emotional that made me..
-Touched the piano used on “Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns”
-Saw Pearl Jam play in their hometown.
-Saw Kim Thayil for the first time in four years. That also made me really emotional. I just never thought I’d get to see Matt and Kim on stage together again in front of my eyes.
-Visited the apartment where Chris “lived” in Singles.
-Visited the spot where they shot the “Hunger Strike” music video. Tried to act like Ed in a bush of weeds.
-Saw Jeff’s hat collection.
-Visited Black (Hole) Sun sculpture
-Saw PJ two more times..this time in my hometown.
My grunge expedition to Seattle was worth every mile and every penny. I can’t put into words how much I love Pearl Jam and the members of that band. I’m sure my family/friends are so sick of hearing me whine about how much I love them. But I do. Thank you, thank you!! For making me so happy!
